The Wisconsin Watercolor Society was founded in 1952 by a group of Wisconsin artists. It was the first Wisconsin art organization to be devoted exclusively to watercolor painting. Its purpose now as then has always been to demonstrate and exhibit meaningful development in the medium of watercolor and to serve as a catalyst for those genuinely interested in watercolor.

Artist Statement

I’m Lacey Fuse, a watercolor artist from a small town in Wisconsin, creating work that blends realism with imagination to tell stories through everyday scenes. Inspired by artists like Edward Hopper and Claude Monet, my paintings focus on light, color, and expressive brushwork to evoke a sense of comfort and nostalgia. I’m drawn to landscapes, old buildings, and antique objects, using soft, vibrant washes to capture both mood and memory—offering a personal view of the world through storytelling and color.
