Artist Statement
I paint Midwestern landscapes, as I am drawn to their open spaces and relaxed atmosphere. Each painting is designed to invite viewers to step into the scene and linger, explore, and slow down to experience the moment fully.
When working in watercolor I move fluidly between drawing, value studies, and layered washes, letting the media’s transparency and luminosity shape the scene. Each layer builds depth and subtle shifts of light, while the natural flow of the paint guides texture, form, and the mood of the landscape.
Watercolor challenges and inspires me, and I embrace the process as much as the result. My work invites reflection and calm, offering viewers a connection to a place, a memory, or a moment of quiet presence.
