The Wisconsin Watercolor Society was founded in 1952 by a group of Wisconsin artists. It was the first Wisconsin art organization to be devoted exclusively to watercolor painting. Its purpose now as then has always been to demonstrate and exhibit meaningful development in the medium of watercolor and to serve as a catalyst for those genuinely interested in watercolor.

Artist Statement

In the demands and noise of present, everyday life, I have learned to be still, to be quiet, and to listen. The challenging medium of watercolor has captivated me and is teaching me to direct and respond to what is happening on the paper in an intuitive manner.

I create art to complete me. Each piece is my response to emotion, movement and mood. Having spent my life observing nature and the world around me, I consider it a privilege to convey these experiences to the viewer.

My goal is to further explore the magical properties of watercolor and mark . I strive to create a compelling visual story that is soft and relatable. Any day is a good day to create art.
