Connie Louise Henke
Artist Biography
I’m Connie Henke, a Watercolor Painter based in Central Wisconsin. Art has been my lifelong passion, encompassing both my role as an artist and an art educator. In 2021, I retired after dedicating over three decades to shaping young artistic minds. My commitment to education garnered recognition through the Teacher of the Year award in 2006 and the title of Elementary Art Teacher of the Year for Wisconsin in 2016. The impact of my teaching is evident in the numerous local and state art awards my students earned, with one receiving the prestigious Governor’s Award in 2019.
I currently serve as the Art Director at the Alexander House, Center of Art and History in Port Edwards, Wisconsin. This role involves curating and scheduling exhibitions throughout the year, showcasing my ongoing dedication to the local art community.
My artistic journey includes participation in various statewide art exhibitions. My works have found a place in numerous private collections, including those at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin Rapids and the Marshfield Clinic Weston.

My artworks reflect the essence of my current environment, with a particular fondness for fall leaves and flowers. I often draw inspiration from travels across the United States and Europe. Utilizing photographs taken during these journeys. I am deeply inspired by the vibrant interplay of colors, which fuels my creative energy alongside the dynamics of line, shape, texture, light, and composition.
