Karen Finerty
Artist Statement
What started out as a hobby over 25 years ago has now become a full time, personal endeavor for me. My multifaceted approach to art led me to work in oil, doing mostly landscapes. Then I explored acrylics, doing mostly primitive paintings and designing painted wood folk art collectibles. Presently, I’ve limited the scope of my work to focus primarily on watercolor, enjoying the unpredictability of the medium and beauty of the colors. My technique is recognized by its strong design component with distinctive patterns of color and form.
