The Wisconsin Watercolor Society was founded in 1952 by a group of Wisconsin artists. It was the first Wisconsin art organization to be devoted exclusively to watercolor painting. Its purpose now as then has always been to demonstrate and exhibit meaningful development in the medium of watercolor and to serve as a catalyst for those genuinely interested in watercolor.

Artist Statement

I have been painting in watercolor since 2012, inspired by the beauty of nature, light, and atmosphere. I am especially drawn to the ever-changing colors and textures found in the natural world and enjoy capturing the interplay of light and shadow through fluid watercolor techniques. My goal is to create paintings that evoke emotion, movement, and a sense of place.

Watercolor continues to be both a creative passion and an ongoing journey of learning. I work primarily with Daniel Smith paints on a variety of fine art papers, experimenting with techniques that allow color to flow and blend naturally.

I am an active member of the American Watercolor Society, the Valley Art Association, and facilitate the Chippewa Valley Watercolor Artists. My work has been featured in exhibitions and publications throughout the region, including the Pablo Center at the Confluence and the Heyde Center for the Arts. I currently exhibit my work at 2 Roots Art Gallery and Wine Bar.

Originally from Oregon City, I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University and continue to expand my practice through workshops and study with nationally recognized watercolor artists.
