The Wisconsin Watercolor Society was founded in 1952 by a group of Wisconsin artists. It was the first Wisconsin art organization to be devoted exclusively to watercolor painting. Its purpose now as then has always been to demonstrate and exhibit meaningful development in the medium of watercolor and to serve as a catalyst for those genuinely interested in watercolor.

Artist Statement

Art plays a very important role in my life. Watercolor has always been the medium of choice. I have been teaching for 22 years and love the interaction with my students as they develop artistic confidence. Many years ago, I discovered mixed media, which I have incorporated into my watercolor. I like the challenge of mixing various materials and techniques yet still keeping my style. I am an arts volunteer and have taken groups of artists to paint in Provence in 2024 and 2022.
