The Wisconsin Watercolor Society was founded in 1952 by a group of Wisconsin artists. It was the first Wisconsin art organization to be devoted exclusively to watercolor painting. Its purpose now as then has always been to demonstrate and exhibit meaningful development in the medium of watercolor and to serve as a catalyst for those genuinely interested in watercolor.

Artist Biography

Stacey has been painting the Door County Landscape for over 30 years. After earning a BFA from UW Stout in 1992 she has concentrated exclusively with watercolors. As a native of Door County, her work captures its spirit – fresh, tranquil and charming are words often used to describe her work. She is inspired by the ever-changing seasons and moods inspired by nature. Favorite subjects include wildflowers, barns, cows, and white birches set alongside the blue waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan.
